What can we expect in 2026?
A new year, a new chapter in our group on our long journey as a family business. What does the still young, new year have in store for us? Continue reading
On a personal level, we are delighted to welcome the next generation to the company! Calvin Kuhn joined the management team at M. Jürgensen GmbH & Co. KG on January 1, 2026. Fortunately, we have a truly excellent management team and a great workforce here. Both are looking forward to Calvin’s arrival, as we will continue to rely on a participatory management style with good mutual support. This is a very positive step for us as a family business with a long-term orientation!
However, while the global boom in the energy supply sector continues unabated, the mood in the rest of the German economy remains very gloomy – and by no means only in the crisis-ridden key industries of automotive, chemicals, and mechanical engineering.
At Kuhn Edelstahl in Radevormwald, we therefore had to cope with a significant decline in our sales volume last year. We are preparing ourselves for the decline in these industries to be structural and permanent.
Nevertheless, as a company offering a wide range of manufacturing and products, we continue to see opportunities in developing new markets and opening up new fields of application for our core competencies of “centrifugal casting” and “machining technology” using stainless steel. In 2025, we were able to increase the share of sales with new products and customers, and we plan to increase this again this year.
At our M. Jürgensen site in Sörup, on the other hand, we continue to enjoy full order books and promising long-term projects on the horizon. The market for large engines is growing, and as one of the few manufacturers worldwide of cylinder liners suitable for this sector, we tend to have the problem of not being able to keep up with production.
These conditions will require even more flexibility, creativity, and spontaneity from us than before, but we have always proven ourselves resilient in the face of crises in the past. The basis remains a great team at both locations, which continues to approach the challenges and demands of our customers with the highest level of qualification and motivation.
With this in mind, let’s make the most of our opportunities! Here’s to a successful 2026.
