Last year, the Sörup-based company initiated numerous internal transformation processes designed to help it make the most of its favorable market position and ensure a reliable supply to its customers. This is to be achieved through organizational and strategic realignments that began as early as 2025.
After the previous management team was replaced last summer by Dr. Bernd Groß as interim manager, many obstacles that had been hindering the company’s positive growth have already been removed. Furthermore, with the appointment of two new managing directors during the current fiscal year, the company has completed a generational transition in its leadership.
Calvin Kuhn joined M. Jürgensen as technical managing director effective January 1. A mechanical engineer (M.Eng.) specialized in production, he brings to the company in-depth expertise in planning and control, which he gained through his work at the Werkzeugmaschinenlabor at RWTH Aachen University. As a member of the owner family and a shareholder in the parent company Kuhn Industrie Holding, he is also thoroughly familiar with the production-related requirements and challenges of manufacturing at M. Jürgensen.
Rounding out the new leadership team is Jan Schmidt, who took over as commercial director on July 1. A graduate in business administration (Dipl.-Kfm.), he started at M. Jürgensen eleven years ago as a controller and most recently served as the site’s commercial director with power of attorney. He knows the company and the corporate group inside and out, has an excellent network, and understands where the challenges lie.
Together, Calvin Kuhn, Jan Schmidt, and Bernd Groß will now further develop the changes and ideas that have been implemented and, with a fresh perspective, consolidate the new management style within the company. Dr. Bernd Groß will focus his efforts as managing director on the sales division through the end of the year and will continue to support the company and the group in an advisory capacity.
For M. Jürgensen’s business partners, this gradual transition in corporate leadership means one thing above all: they will benefit from increasingly stable and optimized processes, a more efficient organizational structure, and greater and more consistent reliability.
