Internal 5S workshops are held regularly in our production areas. The goal is to continuously improve workplace safety, workstations, processes, and standards, thereby laying the foundation for efficient, safe, and stable production processes. The 5S method is an important component of our lean management approach: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain help us reduce waste, avoid search times, and make work processes transparent and traceable.
The recurring nature of these workshops is particularly valuable to us. On the one hand, our employees continually identify new opportunities for optimization directly at the workplace. On the other hand, it is becoming increasingly clear that the greatest challenge lies not solely in introducing new measures, but above all in consistently adhering to and implementing already defined standards daily. This is precisely where our workshops come in: They strengthen awareness of order, structure, and reliability in everyday work and foster a culture in which improvements are understood not as one-time actions, but as an ongoing process.
The potential is particularly high in our custom manufacturing operations, as the wide variety of orders leads to a great deal of preparatory and follow-up work. Optimizing search times, setup times, travel distances, transportation, inventory levels – and minimizing wait times, overproduction, and especially scrap and overtime – offers significant potential.
This results in clear added value for our customers. More efficient workstations and more stable processes ensure consistent quality, shorten delivery times, and help ensure that delivery deadlines are met more reliably.
In addition, our customers benefit from shorter response times, improved planning capabilities, and overall greater process reliability.
