Manufacturers who produce for such industries and markets attach great importance to this, or are even required by customer specifications to only approve suppliers for the components of their systems who also have certifications that document certain quality, manufacturing, and safety standards.
In order to meet these high demands of our customers, quality is an absolute priority in all manufacturing steps and in the design of the entire value chain. This focus is constantly monitored and expanded by our quality department. In addition to strict internal guidelines, we therefore also regularly undergo audits by independent certification bodies, which verify compliance with these high quality standards.
Whereas in the past such certifications often focused on industry-specific requirements for component and material quality, testing and certification companies and customers are now increasingly focusing on production-specific sustainability factors such as resource conservation, climate friendliness, and occupational safety. In these categories, as well as in the main criterion of quality, we as a European manufacturer still have the edge over many international suppliers.
This pioneering position is officially documented by our numerous certifications. This enables us to remain internationally competitive and an attractive supplier for demanding industries. Our numerous certifications include material approvals from DNV GL, Lloyd’s Register, and Bureau Veritas, as well as ISO 9001:2008 certification from TÜV Rheinland, NORSOK M 650 qualification, and ABS certification for stainless steel components in the marine sector.
In addition, our customers regularly conduct individual audits of our processes. In the past, Kuhn Group companies have often been recognized for their delivery quality with supplier awards, for example from Caterpillar (see article). We can therefore rightly claim that Kuhn offers quality that makes a difference – a criterion that often takes a back seat in times of price-competitive markets.
